House for Sally and Robert
The studio undertook the technical design of an extension to a large house in rural Suffolk.
The design formed a new relationship between the interior and the expansive garden beyond.
The details proposed by the studio enhance the views out to the garden from within the space that were denied to the clients by the original rear elevation.
Doors, rooflights and windows were specified to ensure that natural light enters the full depth of the interior and unrestricted views are afforded. A continuous stone floor and canopy were designed to make the threshold between inside and out a little less explicit.
